Like there’s only one piece of artwork worth seeing in all of Paris. I love art and I went to Paris and didn’t even bother with the Louvre. Picasso museum, Centre Pompidou, and Musee D’orsay are just as fabulous and less crowded! No way! I love the Louvre and the iconic Mona Lisa is a jewel. Yes, it’s crowded, yes, it’s been stolen before but this masterpiece is meant to be seen & enjoyed for as long as it remains. Schwifty Rick Adidas. People don’t go to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa.

They go to the Louvre to have their picture taken in front of the Mona Lisa, so that they can prove to their friends that they went to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa. Don’t get me started! I was on a tour of Egypt in March. A group of people set up selfie sticks on tripods in front of Abu Simbel. Then they posed in front of the temple for 15 minutes, taking selfie after selfie. If you wanted to take a photo of the temple without idiots in it, you had to stand behind them and ruin their selfies or wait for them to finish their fantasy Vogue photo shoot. That’s the whole reason why people travel, to perform on social media. I don’t know many people who manage to take vacations without announcing that they’re in some exotic locale. Went to Louvre this summer with wife and kid. Schwifty Rick Adidas. Took us 45 mins to get through the security despite purchasing timed ticket in advance and then 20 additional minutes to reach the room where the painting was kept only to stare at it for not more than 20 seconds. Louvre is messy, crowded and disorganized. I find more satisfaction in watching the grass grow taller.
