I only watched it on a dare from a friend who claimed DBZ was way better than Pokemon, and 5th grader me disagreed entirely, especially after watching that episode. So my very first foray was actually not the best one. Fast forward just a little while after that though and I caught the tail end of the Frieza Saga on Toonami. Now THAT hooked me.
