While Trump supporters are deluded in a disastrously destructive way, their opponents are no less a part of the problem. Every jab, every meaningless insult, every pointless contribution to the feedback loop of vitriol only strengthens the harm they are doing. The worst of times demands the best of us; it’s time to do better. Trumpism is a product of a bundle of things, which includes the mutually reinforcing tribalistic rage of two opposing sides. It feeds off of validation of its polymorphous hatreds. The more others attack them in a style famililar to them, the more full of blind hate they become. The opposition to Trump and Trumpism is throwing fuel on the fire. I’ll pass on being called fine people, thanks!
